Embraer E190 takes off in the special livery of the reigning football champions from Frankfurt
Cologne/Bonn, 27 July 2022. The German airlines are not only good at football: an Embraer E190LR with the registration D-AWSI from German Airways will in future carry the livery of the reigning European football champions Frankfurt Galaxy from the metropolis on the River Main. German Airways' parent company Zeitfracht recently joined the team with the aim of making this sport even better known in Germany. Football is the most popular sport in the USA and is also on the rise in Europe.
What could be more obvious than an advertising medium the size of an aeroplane? Maren Wolters, Managing Director of German Airways: "There are already aeroplanes in all kinds of football liveries, football is new. That's why the new flying appearance of Frankfurt Galaxy will be even more spectacular in future. We will be travelling throughout Europe in the characteristic Galaxy purple. We have great role models: In the USA, for example, the New England Patriots football club from Foxborough near Boston also has its "own" aircraft."
With the Frankfurt Galaxy jet, there is now another "champion transporter" in the metropolis on the Main. The reigning Euroleague football champions Eintracht Frankfurt rely on the "flying eagle" of Sun Express.
The maiden flight for the jet in its new livery will take place this weekend at the Galaktische's away match in Wroclaw.
