Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer presented a jet from the E 190 family to Cologne-based airline WDL-Aviation on Monday. The aircraft with the eye-catching livery, which is reminiscent of the heraldic animal of the Cologne ice hockey club "Haie", was received by the management of WDL and the Zeitfracht Group, which owns WDL. Numerous visitors, press representatives and employees of the company followed the arrival of the jet at Cologne/Bonn Airport. WDL-Aviation acquired four jets in November to replace its current fleet of BAE146 jets. The first jet will be delivered to the Cologne-based company at the end of the month. All aircraft are to be registered to WDL by the middle of the year.

Walter Böhnke, Managing Director of WDL-Aviation, said: "We are looking forward to the arrival of the Embraer E190 jets in Cologne. This marks an important step for our company. We will be able to offer our customers a new and improved flying experience." Wolfram Simon-Schröter, Managing Director of the Zeitfracht Group: "With the renewal of the fleet, we are consistently pursuing our growth plans in the aviation sector."

The Embraer fleet is characterised by its modern design. The twin-engine jets offer space for around 100 passengers.

WDL-Aviation, a member of the Zeitfracht Group, has been based at Cologne/Bonn Airport since 1987. It is a leading provider in Europe for the chartering of its aircraft, including crew and maintenance, for commercial and private purposes.
