Safety Risk Officer (m/w/d/o)

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Safety Risk Officer (m/f/d) at our location in Cologne as soon as possible.

Become part of our Safety Management Team! As a Safety Risk Officer, you are the central point of contact for risk management issues and take on a responsible and diverse role.

You report directly to the Safety Manager and maintain close contact with all flight-related departments at German Airways.

Your tasks

  • Operate and continuously improve our AOC-wide Safety Risk Management
  • Analyze safety-relevant events and reports
  • Compile reports to identify trends and developments regarding our risks
  • Conducting efficacy controls for mitigation measures in collaboration with our compliance management
  • Design and implementation of Safety Management System trainings to strengthen our safety culture
  • Support our functional departments by facilitating risk assessments
  • Support our Fatigue Risk Management processes
  • Create and maintain safety management documentation
  • Contribute to the analysis and implementation of regulatory updates
  • Contribute to the preparation and implementation of audits
  • Work flexibly in all other areas of our Safety Management System

Your profile

  • A university degree with a focus on aviation or a comparable qualification
  • Having a commercial pilot license is an advantage
  • Proficient theoretical and practical experience in safety management within aviation companies is an advantage (alternatively in quality, security or compliance management)
  • Enjoy challenging tasks and an analytical way of working
  • Team spirit, openness and curiosity
  • Knowledge of relevant ICAO & EASA regulatory requirements
  • Proven experience with Office software, knowledge of safety or quality management software is an advantage
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and German
  • Impeccable criminal record
