After cartel office approval: Zeitfracht Group strengthens aviation management
Berlin, 12 March 2019
The Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group is reorganising and broadening the management of its aviation division. After the Cartel Office authorised the Berlin-based company to take over Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) from the Lufthansa Group, Dominik Wiehage and Elisabeth Jesse joined the management board in April 2019. With the acquisition of LGW, the aviation division of the Zeitfracht Group has grown considerably and is to be expanded further.
Wiehage will become the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Jesse the new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Wiehage will be responsible for the reorganisation and expansion plans of the aviation division. He will manage LGW together with Frank Schulze, Head of Time Freight Finance. Jesse will mainly focus on the expansion of the wet lease business and close co-operation with airline partners.
The Zeitfracht Group and its subsidiary WDL Aviation ACMI are currently partners of a large number of established European airlines. LGW will fly for Eurowings as a wet-lease provider in the longer term.
"In Dominik Wiehage and Elisabeth Jesse, we have gained proven experts in the aviation sector," says Wolfram Simon-Schröter, Managing Director of the Zeitfracht Group. "They will bring us much closer to our declared goal of further expanding the airline division of the Zeitfracht Group."
Wiehage (42) has many years of management experience in the airline industry. He was most recently Head of Ground Services at Cologne/Bonn Airport. The law graduate previously worked for many years as Head of Passenger Services and Station Management at Eurowings.
Jesse (39) was most recently Project Manager for the wind-up and liquidation of airberlin and NIKI Luftfahrt. Prior to that, she was Vice President for Customer Experience & Innovation at airberlin and Head of Commercial & Marketing at NIKI Luftfahrt. The business graduate started her career at the Lufthansa Group and drove and managed the expansion of easyJet in the DACH region between 2010 and 2017.
