Aviation company Walter and UFO agree on first cabin collective labour agreement in the company's history

Cologne, 12 June 2019

The German regional airline Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) has reached an agreement with the Independent Flight Attendants' Organisation (UFO) on a collective agreement for cabin crew. The first collective cabin agreement in the history of LGW will apply to 230 employees from July.

The collective labour agreement was concluded just two months after the takeover of LGW by Zeitfracht. It is an important step for LGW. The Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group had only taken over LGW from the Lufthansa Group at the beginning of April 2019. The transfer also marked the start of a long-term wet lease agreement between LGW and Eurowings.

Dominik Wiehage, Managing Director of LGW, is delighted with the agreement: "The conclusion of the collective labour agreement is an important signal to all LGW employees and shows the cabin crew good prospects. We are delighted that we have been able to find a satisfactory solution for all parties involved just two months after the takeover of the company, whereby we have also gone to the limits of what is economically justifiable and see the agreement as an investment in the future. On this basis, we want to take the next steps in the company's development together."
