German Airways has entered into a strategic partnership with the Swedish airline Braathens Regional Airlines. The German regional airline will cooperate with Braathens for several years. The wet lease agreement includes the long-term lease of five Embraer E-190 LR regional jets from March 2020, which will be stationed at various Swedish airports and operate domestic and international routes from there.

Braathens had been looking for a reliable European partner with modern and low-emission aircraft for some time. With the Embraer aircraft from German Airways operated by WDL, the airline has now found a suitable solution. The wet-lease agreement is the largest co-operation between German Airways and a single partner to date.

The two airlines of the Zeitfracht Group, LGW and WDL, are marketed under the name German Airways. LGW's fleet consists of 17 Dash 8 Q400 aircraft. Three Embraer E190 aircraft are in service for WDL, with two further aircraft of this type on order.
