German Airways enters into strategic training partnership with TFC flight school

Berlin, 10 December 2019

German Airways has entered into a strategic partnership with TFC Flugbetrieb und -technik Beratungsgesellschaft from Essen. In future, all junior pilots at German Airways will receive theoretical and practical training at the flight school. The prospective pilots will undergo a programme specifically tailored to the needs of German Airways. This includes training for the Embraer E190 aircraft and the aircraft in the Q 400 fleet.

Dominik Wiehage, COO of German Airways: "We are delighted to have found a long-standing partner for German Airways in TFC. The strategic cooperation with the Essen-based family business is an important step for German Airways towards centralised and standardised training for all pilots. With its fleet of aircraft and simulators and its modern training centre, TFC offers ideal conditions for this."

Christian Käufer, Managing Director of TFC: "We welcome German Airways to our Airline Training Centre and look forward to working in partnership with them. We are proud to be able to embark on this professional training programme together with German Airways."

In addition, the junior pilots are to be gradually introduced to the corporate culture of German Airways so that a smooth integration into flight operations is guaranteed after completing their training. During the training period, the programme provides for a practical exchange with active German Airways pilots. In addition, there will also be flights in the fleet's aircraft and work shadowing.
