German Airways has a new Managing Director: Marcus Schuhte and Maren Wolters now jointly manage Germany's second oldest airline
Cologne/Bonn, 5 October 2022. Marcus Schuhte, previously Accountable Manager at German Airways, is being promoted to the Management Board. He will then manage the second oldest German airline together with the previous Managing Director Maren Wolters. At the same time, Zeitfracht board member Wolfram Simon-Schröter will leave the management board after more than five years and take on further responsibilities within the group.
Marcus Schuhte has more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry as a pilot, instructor and in airline management. He completed his training at the technical college for pilots in Essen/Mülheim, before joining the former WDL Aviation, now German Airways, as First Officer on the Fokker 27. There, the pilot, who now has more than 12,000 hours of flying experience, switched to the BAe146 aircraft type and completed various trainer courses at the same time. From 2007 to 2014, Schuhte worked as a captain and training captain for Ryanair and flew Boeing 737s during this time. After working as a flight dispatcher at ATSD Air Tasking Service GmbH in Dortmund, he returned to what is now German Airways in June 2017 - where he was initially deputy flight operations manager and later responsible operations manager and accountable manager in the following years.
Maren Wolters: "I am delighted that Marcus wants to take on even more responsibility at German Airways with immediate effect. He has known the company very well for years and stands for great continuity within the company. We will be able to expand our fleet to nine aircraft in the coming months. In this situation, Marcus' support in the management is also important."
