Zeitfracht new LGW owner - Smooth transition - Flight operations without disruptions
Berlin, 01 April 2019
The transition of Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) to the Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group has gone smoothly. The regional airline's aircraft took off as planned for Eurowings on Monday. With the take-off of the Dash Q8 with the registration D - ABQB from Stuttgart to Brussels at 06:30 with a load factor of over 80 per cent, followed by the D - ABQC from Düsseldorf to Lyon at 06:40, a new era has begun for LGW. The two aircraft were christened "Juna" (D - ABQB) and "Helga" (D - ABQC).
The Zeitfracht Group took over LGW on 1 April. Following the approval of the responsible supervisory authorities and the fulfilment of the usual conditions, the purchase of the former Eurowings subsidiary was successfully completed. The takeover also marked the start of a long-term wet lease agreement between LGW and Eurowings.
Zeitfracht Managing Director Wolfram Simon-Schröter said: "I am very pleased that we were able to finalise the acquisition of LGW as planned. We warmly welcome the LGW employees to our family business. They will strengthen our aviation division in the long term."
The LGW fleet currently consists of 17 Dash Q8 aircraft. Nothing will change for LGW employees as a result of the switch to the Zeitfracht Group; their contracts will remain unchanged. The Cologne-based airline WDL-Aviation already belongs to the Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group.
