Aviation company Walter converts fleet from Dash 8 - Q400 to Embraer E190 jets

Berlin, 09 May 2019

Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) is reorganising its fleet. From December 2019, the regional airline will fleet its first Embraer E190 aircraft. The new Embraer aircraft will replace the existing Dash 8-Q400 fleet. This will take around two years, until autumn 2021.

The refloating ensures standardisation of the aircraft within the group of companies. The time freight subsidiary WDL Aviation, which is based at Cologne/Bonn Airport, is currently also being equipped with aircraft from the Embraer E190 series, which require little maintenance. This will create synergies within the group of companies.

Dominik Wiehage, Managing Director of LGW, is delighted with the modernisation: "By switching to the Embraer E190 jets, we will be able to fly even more economically in future. This will enable us to fulfil the highest quality requirements of our customers in the wet-lease business."

With the refloating, the management of the Zeitfracht Group is focusing on modernising and increasing the efficiency of the company's aviation division. LGW will fly as a wet-lease provider for Eurowings in the longer term. The Zeitfracht Group only took over LGW from the Lufthansa Group at the beginning of April.
