WDL Aviation receives first Embraer in Cologne - airline grows and creates jobs

Cologne, 13 March 2019

Cologne-based airline WDL Aviation took delivery of the first of four Embraer E190 aircraft on Wednesday. The twin-engine jet landed at Cologne/Bonn Airport in the afternoon and was received by the management. The aircraft arrived from the USA with the transfer licence plate N914AZ. In Germany, the jet will be flown with the registration D-ACJJ.

With the introduction of the E190 aircraft, WDL is also creating new jobs. The company is recruiting flight captains, co-pilots and flight attendants. WDL, which is part of the Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group and has its headquarters at Cologne/Bonn Airport, is aiming to expand its team in the coming months in order to accommodate its continued growth.

Walter Böhnke, Managing Director of WDL, emphasises: "We are delighted with the continued growth of our company. We offer employees attractive jobs and the opportunity to help shape the promising future of our company."

WDL Aviation is one of Europe's leading providers of aircraft leasing for regional jets. The new E-190 aircraft complement the existing fleet of six BAE146 jets. The company also offers partial services such as aircraft leasing, crewing, maintenance and various complete solutions.

The Embraer fleet is characterised by its modern design. The jets offer space for around 100 passengers. The aircraft are one of the best-selling regional jets in the world and are used by many established European airlines.
